May 28th, 2020 (Hauppague, NY) - Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy announced today, the extension of the real property tax deadline to June 20 (payment due next business day Monday, June 22) without penalty or interest, in accordance with the New York State executive order. Tax payments made after June 2 should be paid directly to the Suffolk County Comptroller’s Office in Riverhead.
“The COVID-19 public health crisis has created catastrophic hardships for many people, particularly in Suffolk County, one of the areas hardest hit by the pandemic,” said Comptroller Kennedy. “Extending the real property tax deadline to June 22 without penalty or interest will give residents a much-needed grace period in order to meet their real property tax obligation,” he said.
