The Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce St. Patrick’s Day Parade celebrates community pride, Irish heritage, and
local spirit. All participants are expected to help maintain a safe, family-friendly, and inclusive environment that reflects
positively on our towns.
I. General Information
• Parade Date & Time: Sunday March 15, 2026. Start time 11:00 am; line up at 10:45 am; Rain date March 22
• Assembly Area: Snedecor Avenue; enter from Middle Rd.- locations provided in advance

II. General Participant Guidelines
1. Registration
• All marching units, floats, and vehicles must pre-register with the Chamber by January 30th, 2026, and
submit required documentation (e.g., proof of insurance, signed waiver, driver information) Parade committee will reach out to you for these documents after you have registered.
• Each entry should designate a point-of-contact (team leader) who will coordinate with parade
marshals/organizers.
• Each entry will receive a unit number and lineup position prior to parade day.
2. Conduct
• This is a family-friendly community event. Participants must behave respectfully at all times.
• No profanity, inappropriate gestures, or offensive signage will be tolerated.
• Alcoholic beverages and controlled substances are strictly prohibited in the staging area and along the route.
• Photographs and videos taken along the route may be used for promotional use without compensation.
• Entries may not contain any controversial, offensive, or inappropriate images, behavior, or messages. Political
signs, campaign materials, and partisan flags or messages are not permitted. Banners, flags, or signs should be
respectful of our community and family friendly parade and follow recognized flag protocol. All displays should
align with the theme of St. Patrick’s Day. All participating groups will be observed on the parade line up and
should there be any determination of inappropriate displays, the appointed parade marshal(s) shall have the
authority to request removal of display or removal of group from parade.
3. Safety
• Participants should respect private property, avoid blocking driveways, and adhere to local parking regulations.
• If children are involved, ensure adequate adult supervision and clear safety protocols.
• No throwing items (including candy, beads, or promotional materials) from floats or vehicles.
Items may be handed out safely by walkers alongside the vehicle.
• Maintain a safe distance (30 feet minimum) between units.
• Fire extinguishers are required on all floats with electrical or generator use.
4. Attire & Theme
• Parade attire should be in keeping with the Irish/St. Patrick’s theme; green, festive, and family-appropriate.
• Business and organization signage on floats and vehicles should be tasteful and clearly display the group name.
• Music should be appropriate in volume and content.
III. Marching Groups
• Stay within your assigned formation. No stopping for extended performances unless pre-approved.
• If performing (dance, band, etc.), routines must fit within parade flow and not block forward movement.
• Walkers should stay safely away from moving vehicles and floats. All walking participants of a marching group
must be behind their motorized vehicle.
IV. Floats
• Floats must be constructed securely and safely for riders.
• Height must not exceed 13 feet 6 inches; width not to exceed 8 feet 6 inches. Decorations must be fire-retardant;
generators must be safely mounted. Riders must remain seated or standing behind rails while moving.
V. Judging of Floats
The Lenore Irish Award is presented to the entry that best represents the St. Patrick’s Day Irish theme. The award will be
given at lineup, and the winning float will proudly display the award sign and trophy (held for one year) during the parade.
Winners also receive one free year of Chamber membership dues and a complimentary invitation for two to the following
year’s Grand Marshal Dinner.
VI. Liability and Waiver
• All participants must sign a waiver acknowledging the risks of parade participation.
• Vehicles, floats or mobile units must carry proof of liability insurance and drivers must present valid licenses.
• The Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to deny entry to any participant not in
compliance with these guidelines.
Participant Waiver Form
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the March 15, 2026, Bayport-Blue Point St. Patrick’s Day Parade, I,
the undersigned, hereby release and hold harmless the Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce, its officers, volunteers,
and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising out of my participation in this event. I understand that
participation involves certain inherent risks, and I assume full responsibility for the safety of my organization and any
minors involved.
By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to abide by the Parade Protocols & Guidelines issued by the
Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce. I agree to comply with all parade rules and instructions from officials and
acknowledge that failure to do so may result in removal from this and future parades.
