Phase 2 Guidance

Remember as of this email we are currently in Phase 1. Curbside and In-store pick up only

Phase 2 guidance has been posted on the NY Forward website: https://forward.ny.gov/. Please use this link and click the button that says "Phase Two Guidance." Phase 2 includes all office-based jobs, real-estate services, retail in-store shopping, vehicle sales, and limited barbershop and hair salon services.

To clarify how the reopening process works-- The Long Island region is currently in Phase 1. There is an average of two weeks between each phase at which point the data will be reviewed before we are able to officially move to Phase 2. As we continue to review the data we will let you know when we are able to move to Phase 2.

All businesses must read the guidelines and submit an affirmation before reopening. In addition, they need to complete and print the safety plan to display in their business. All Phase 1 businesses should be doing that now before they reopen. Phase 2 businesses can begin reading and submitting the affirmation in preparation for Phase 2 but they can not yet reopen, as Long Island is only in Phase 1.

Empire State Development has a business reopening look-up tool if there is a confusion about if a business is permitted to be open or what restrictions are in place. That tool can be found here: https://www.businessexpress.ny.gov/app/nyforward.
