Stony Brook's College of Business offers support and guidance...

An important role for Stony Brook's College of Business is to do all we can to support economic development on Long Island. The economic downturn which has resulted from the need for social distancing due to the COVID-19 health crisis has given us an opportunity to help the business community. Stony Brook University College of Business Faculty and Students have collaborated with Suffolk County, our industry partners, such as Business Owners Advisory Council of Long Island, Falcon Rappaport & Berkman PLLC, Shift Group, and FranchiseGrade, to provide resources and guidance as businesses cope with COVID-19. In addition to the financial guidance offered by the SBU SBDC, College of Business faculty are offering specialized office hours to provide information based on topic of concern (e.g., basic financial guidance, marketing concerns related to pivoting one's business and dealing with supply chain constraints, and communication in a challenging time) or based on industry (e.g., restaurant, travel). Together with industry partner Shift Group, we are offering a free workshop on how businesses can successfully pivot during the pandemic. To sign up for this free workshop, please complete this intake form by May 13th. Finally, our website contains video interviews and documents based on conversations with local business owners who have successfully pivoted during this tough time. Please know that we are here to work with you and your business and all information and assistance is offered at no cost. If you are unsure of where to start please complete the survey here and we will gladly reach out with the appropriate response. Sincerely, Dean Manuel London Stony Brook University College of Business
